Single vision lenses - the classic among eyeglass lenses.

Single vision lenses are spectacle lenses that have a uniform corrective effect over the entire surface of the lens: used either to provide sharp vision at close range - or for distance vision. This is why single vision lenses are used for distance glasses or reading glasses. Apart from their corrective effect, these two types of lenses also differ optically: single vision lenses for farsighted or hyperopic people are slightly thicker in the central area of the lens, while single vision lenses for nearsighted people have a slightly thicker lens edge.

But regardless of the diopter number, modern ZEISS technology makes it possible to produce exceptionally flat and lightweight lenses even for people with severe vision defects. And: the choice of four different quality levels allows you to make a perfect, individual adjustment to your own visual needs and reading habits, so that the single vision glasses ultimately not only provide perfect vision, but also look just as good. When should you choose which quality level?

Sharp vision, aesthetics and wearing comfort

Single vision lenses are spectacle lenses with only dioptric effect. Depending on your correction value, lenses made of different materials are available, which will let you choose optimal glasses with the thinnest and lightest lenses possible.

ZEISS single vision Sph: the classic eyeglass lens

ZEISS single vision Sph is a point-imaging, spherical spectacle lens. Blurring that occurs when looking through the peripheral areas can be reduced to a minimum for high quality vision. They are available in plastic or mineral glass and can correct both mild and severe refractive errors in the form of distance glasses and reading glasses. With the help of modern manufacturing methods, models can be produced with exceptionally low weight! With single vision lenses made of plastic, the weight of the glasses is reduced by up to 40 percent compared to lenses made of mineral glass.

ZEISS single vision AS: Your eyeglass lens for more aesthetics

Curved lenses - no thanks! Due to a rotationally symmetrical, aspherical front surface, the ZEISS single vision AS spectacle lens is characterized by low protrusion and very good imaging properties. It is particularly suitable for farsighted spectacle wearers with high correction values. Lenses can be produced that are up to 20 percent lighter and thinner, and also have significantly less protrusion - all in the spirit of aesthetic eyewear.

ZEISS single vision Superb: more freedom for your vision

Free-form technology is the magic word that defines this lens, and lets you see even sharper. The entire lens surface is optimized point by point for your vision. Distortions in the peripheral area of the lenses are eliminated completely. Each ZEISS single vision Superb lens is individually calculated and manufactured for each customer and each prescription, taking into account the sphere, cylinder, axis, prism and prism base. You get an even more comfortable single-vision design.

ZEISS single vision Individual: for customized vision

Is it possible to have even more individuality? Yes. Even more individual parameters are taken into account when calculating ZEISS single vision individual lenses. Your individual higher-order aberrations are also determined. This is done using wavefront technology and allows surface optimization so that the lenses offer you the best possible quality of vision.
