Contactology, as we practise it, is a speciality in its own right, an art in itself, a technical challenge, requiring special knowledge of Optometry and, above all, many years of experience to ensure optimal vision and the highest SWISS MADE standards of technical precision. Consultation by your contact lens specialist on medical prescription, CONTACTOLOGIE MEDICALE, enables custom fitting of contact lenses in the most complex cases, such as keratoconus or keratoplasty pathologies, but also more simply in cases of Myopia, Hypermetropia, Presbyopia, Astigmatism, Aphakia.

The human eye provides clear vision when it is perfectly spherical. Distortions can occur when the eyeball or cornea are not quite spherical, resulting in blurred vision. Commonly diagnosed vision problems include astigmatism, myopia, hyperopia and presbyopia. Astigmatism, myopia and hyperopia are often hereditary, and there is no way to prevent them.

Presbyopia is a vision anomaly caused mainly by aging, and nothing can be done to prevent it. The main symptoms range from blurred vision to visual fatigue and headaches. In most cases, problems can be corrected with contact lenses. Should you experience any problems whatsoever with your vision, we strongly advise you to consult an eye care professional.

We specialize in cases of acute keratoconus, with progressive irregular astigmatism accelerating the deterioration of visual acuity. We use the latest generation of hybrid lenses, and in most cases, keratoconus can be corrected with contact lenses.

Keratoconus, from the Greek keratos for cornea and conus for cone, is a bilateral, asymmetrical, idiopathic corneal dystrophy characterized by progressive, non-inflammatory thinning.
